Excercise is my Frienemy

I'm not sure what a "frienemy" really is, but in this case I thought it would apply to exercising since I hate it (enemy part) even though apparently it is really good for me (friend part).

I have been working out on a somewhat regular basis for about 3 weeks now. I have a membership at a local gym. The main thing I do is walk/jog on the treadmill and some resistance weight training.

This was kind of a big week for me in the physical activity department. I had set a 12 week goal for myself to be able to jog a mile without stopping. I did it this week! Week 2! I completely surprised myself. I don't think I have done that since high school.

So now I have to set a new 12 week goal. I am going to make it 2 miles jogging without stopping. We'll see. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do it. I also want to be able to do 100 crunches. (It actually hurt me to type that.)

  2. I have been a member at snap for like 3 years. I know for at least one whole year I never went in. Are you a member there? If so, we should meet sometimes...

  4. I was but I quit. All I was doing was running on the treadmill and now I do that at work on my lunch hour. I am trying to find a Zumba class in McKinney or Frisco on a Saturday. I don't want to join anywhere but I would like to try it. I hear it is fun and kinda of a work at your own pace thing. I have no dance skill what so ever so I may end up being "that girl" but I still want to try it. I will let you know if I find one and we can go!

  5. Congratulations on running a mile so quickly! Running is great exercise - burns tons of calories. Although, I think "frenemy" is a good word for it. I like all the benefits - I don't so much enjoy actually doing it.

  6. I'm with you girl. YOu can do it. I got up to 5K (wait, Canadian here...) 3 miles in the spring/early summer and couldn't do 1/2 a mile when I started. (now I let it go and am trying again).

Just keep going, no matter how slow, you are still running (that's what my running partner kept saying to me).
