All In

Oh. Boy. Who watched The Biggest Loser this week? What a show! Some of those boys need a good whoopin' if you ask me. I know, I know--"Game play... Don't take it personal." Yada, yada, yada. I am not really interested in the game play, except when contestants start throwin'-down. Now that's pretty entertaining.

The reason I really love watching the show is because it motivates me. It gets me FIRED UP. Last night it happened when Bob was talking to Lisa. Lisa, Lisa, Lisa. *sigh* Poor thing. She is really starting to GET ON MY NERVES! Ugh!

If you don't watch, let me explain. Lisa created the most drama this week with her "60/40" principle. Not sure which percentage is which, but part of her wants to be there and part of her doesn't. I have decided she's not the smartest cookie in the package since she continues to say this over and over again to people who are 110% sure they want to be there and could be sent home every week. They are not happy with her, neither am I and neither was Bob.

:)

I like it when Bob gets mad. Except when he starts cussing violently as if his vocabulary only consists of 4 letter words. (My 5 year old likes to watch this show--come ON, man!) After hearing Lisa say that she was "honestly about 60/40" for the umpteenth time, Bob lost it. He said a whole bunch of stuff but the bottom line was brilliant. He told her that if she's only part-way in she just wouldn't make it. He said, "You have to be all in."

I really needed to hear this. I've heard it before but it's a truth easily forgotten. Dedication is a tricky thing. Especially when it seems like there is so much to be dedicated to. But really, we make it more complicated than it has to be. When it comes right down to it, we're either in or were out.

At some point, we all use Lisa's logic. She went on to claim that even though part of her did want to go home, she would still give it all she had. She said she couldn't quit. "It's just not in me," she assured her partner. Hmmm, Lisa. Not sure I buy that, deary...

So I mentioned in my last post that I have been thinking about my course of action for the Holiday feeding frenzy that is about to ensue. While I had been tempted to take a 60/40 approach, I have definitely decided against that now. I will share more details later but I have decided on a basic plan/challenge. Here it is:

"ALL IN" Holiday Challenge

1) Set a clear and realistic, yet challenging goal. I will weigh less on January 1, 2011 than I do today. Can't be something like, "I want to do good." Be specific.

2) Formulate a detailed plan of action. Include strategies and assessment tools. Share plan with someone of accountability or blog it before the first holiday eating experience.

3) Be relentless and 100% committed to reaching the goal. None of this 60/40 crap business! No "Lisa's" allowed. You're either in or you're out.

If you want to take on this challenge, and I hope you do, simply follow steps 1-3 and keep us posted on your progress. Feel free to email me anytime: keeliesue@live.com

Whatever you do, don't go into the holiday season thinking you are just going to "wing it." As I told my First Place group last night, I don't care what your plan is--but you better have one! By golly.

On a slightly different note, this week I have found inspiration in these verses calling me to be "all in" as a follower of Christ.

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Revelation 3:15, 16

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30

I want to be all in, Lord. Help me. Amen.

Lisa needed to go her butt home. Sickening that they kept her because she's not a threat.

Great verses, such great versese!!! Is it bad that I'm scared to commit to joining up because I doubt I'll be that commited?

Chabelle--No that's not bad. I shoudl have mentioned that everyone is different. Some people can shift into a more relaxed mode during the holidays and get right back on track after its over. I am not one of those people! I think the majority of OBESE or close to it people aren't there yet. Most need to stick close to the regular plan and my stretegy this year is to even step it up to ensure that I am happy with myself on Jan 1.

I don't think the challenge is for everyone:)But somebody definitely needs it ;)

sorry--ChaRbelle:)

But I want to be a part and I am a "Lisa" :) No really I am totally setting my plan up as we speak! I am totally pumped. I actually have a plan I have been following that I started last week and am down 4.8 lbs this week! I am pumped!

And what if Lisa's plan on BL is that if she can make people keep her around because she wants to go home then she basically has an in to the finale. Just maybe though. She bugged me a lot this last show.

Awe--Lisa!!! Of course we want you in the challenge!!! Way to go on a big loss!!! Good call on Lisa possibly being the biggest game player of all!!! Can't wait to see...

Well you know I watched BL this week. I was jumping up and down and screaming at the TV. Ugh. Totally crazy season. I so wanted Lisa to go home. I hate the way she plays the game... like when she saved all her calories for dessert. Has she learned anything ?? Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

I really really liked it when Bob and Jillian got 'excited' and yelled. I do think they could keep their 4 letter words to themselves also. I've never seen Jillian WANT someone to go home. Love Jillian and Bob's passion.

This is a super awesome challenge! Gonna think about it and see what I can come up with.

I know that you will succeed with this! Keep up the great work Keelie. :)

I want to be All In right along with you!!

I think we should move Thanksgiving to June or something. It might mean a few foods were out (like all things Pumpkin-y), but it would surely make getting through to the New Year a little less crazy, right?

In the meanwhile, I'm gonna be all in. No Lisa here :)

HAHAHA "No 'Lisas' Allowed!" Love it plus it's easier to say than "no 60/40, you have go all in" I'm starting to formulate my holiday plan, first picking all the healthy recipes I'm going to make. I also really like the quote from Jerimiah. It can apply to faith, fitness, and love!

Keelie, when I look at your pictures from this time last year, compared to now, your transformation is amazing! You must be so proud of yourself.

I wish we could get the most recent Biggest Loser over here in England :)

I have a question for you: did you ever finish the shred? I just started Level 2 last night and although I found Level 1 relatively easy, I'm ready to quit. I won't, because as Bob said, I need to be 100% in, and I am. But boy level 2 really doese challenge one.

Thanks for being so motivating x

Keelie said...

Jody-- when I got to lev 2 I also thought it was really hard and quit!! But a fee days ago I realized I just needed to keep doing lev 1 until it was so boring and easy that I didn't mind moving up. So I'm back at it on lev 1 for the time being.

Yeah Lisa needs to take her butt home and if Frado and them weren't so busy trying to game play by keeping the weak chicks in the game so they can boot them out at the end then she would have been out by now. This year is the most game playing I have ever seen. It's ridiculous! But I was ready for Erin to throw down on Frado!

yeah!!!!
