Weigh-In: .6 lb. Loss
202.4
Honestly, I expected to be out of the twos today but, alas, it wasn't to be.
No. What I weigh does not define me. But it is important for my health and well being. At this point, my weight needs to be moving in a downward direction. No need for analysis, no "buts" about it. It is what it is. I've had to learn the hard way that having expectations about weigh-in is a bad idea. I have tried so many different approaches with weighing-in:
-have someone else write it down but I don't look (denial)
-weigh-in every day (obsession)
-get rid of my scale (avoidance)
A weigh-in, if we allow it to, can be one of those dramatic mountain top or valley experiences. But a weigh-in shouldn't be that. It is more of a mundane little moment that we can learn from. We can simply take what it gives us, accept it for what it is...not much. But something.
One weigh in on it's own never really amounted to much. But a whole bunch of them together is what amounts to something. And I've never heard of it being weight gain.
On we go...

My first weekly weigh-in is tomorrow...I'm nervous!
I'm doing pretty good, but also doing an Isagenix 9 day cleanse so I know most of it is water weight. After I'm done this cleanse I'm going to limit myself to only monthly weigh-ins (doing the cleanse after holiday eating I felt so ugh... want to clear out all that junk, literally, LOL). The losses motivate me for sure but a gain down spirals me which is NOT helpful.
Sounds like a plan!
Good luck!
I hear you - when I gained close to 50 lbs over 18 months (after having lost 35), it was because I didn't step on the scale, or in the rare occasion if I did step on it, I didn't make changes to my lifestyle to make it go down. So now I force myself to step on the scale every.single.day - I know I won't always like what I see, but 80% of that is because of what I did (or didn't) do the previous day. But I've got to stop having it affect my mood.
Personally, I think it's a test. I'm not entirely joking.
I have to weigh every day per MD orders, (It's a CHF thing.) so I've gotten used to the daily fluctuations verses a trend.
But, honestly, this week has been bizarre. I lost 3 pounds in the first 3 days of this year--and posted it as my weigh-in # on Friday. The three pound loss had held day 3 and day 4.
Day 5, as in the day after I ostted my loss, I showed a half pound gain. Day 6 showed another half pound gain. So, On day 3, I'd lost 3 pounds and by day 5, I'd only lost 2.
I had not cheated one bit. I mean it, not one bit. In fact, I've probably not eaten more than 1,000 calories a day since Jan. 1st.
So, s'up with that? hmph.
I figure it's fluid. Although, I'd think I would be losing enough to mitigate against any up tick of fluid.
I'm da bit disappointed, but not frantic. Which is odd for me.
I think it's allowing me to trust God and do the right thing--no matter what.
Shrug. Or something like that.
We'll just keep traveling light.

It's so hard to find a balance and figure out what it best for our head and heart!
In other news...can I please have your hair? Everytime I see a picture of it...I am so envious!
Keep on fighting the good fight!
