Weigh In: 1 lb Gain

176.5 lbs

Holy Whack-a-mole, I am tired of this crap. Sorry. I'm moving on but I still have the right to be angry at the stupid scale. Ugh.

Just for balance I have a super-duper long list of NSVs I would like to share:
  • I bought a size Large jacket in the juniors section (juniors fit my short arms and narrow shoulders better) The jacket is pictured above.
  • I took my first guitar lesson last night. I love to sing and this seems like a natural accompaniment to that hobby.

  • I hurt my knee and had to take a couple days off from strenuous exercise, but it is already feeling better!
  • The weather is great right now so my family and I are spending lots of time outside being active!
  • Did some interval training today and my low impact interval was JOGGING! Can't believe it. I can't get my heart rate really up there just by jogging anymore. I did 3 sets of bleachers, 15 incline push-ups and a lap around the track 4 times. Felt great!
  • I am about to register for my final 2 5Ks of 2010. Can't wait to see what 2011 has in store!

Don't be too discouraged about your gain. Cute jacket!

WOOT for NSVs!!! The juniors section? I don't think I ever fit in there, way to go.

As for the scale, mine has been making up numbers recently. I know I'm on the right path and I'll trust the scale will stop these crazy numbers soon.

Very Cute Pic w/the guitar. Learning a new hobby is awesome; you can "sing the unfavorable scale blues...:-)"

I am a singer too. And I would love to learn the guitar. Don't fret the 1 lb, minor setback will pass.

I wouldn't take that 1 lb as a setback at all. I bet with those workouts, it's likely you're building muscle or your body is storing a little extra to fuel your workouts. Just keep on moving... you look awesome! Congrats.

I know it can be so frustrating when you get on the scale for your weekly weigh in and are expecting a loss but the number stays the same...or worse...goes up! Its hard not to let it effect the way you feel about yourself all week- but hang in there- you are doing AMAZING and look great!

Love the jacket. You look great in it!

As much as we want the scale to move only in the downward direction, a flucuation of a pound is normal. You just don't want it to keep going up!

My middle daughter wants to learn to play the guitar. I need to find her a teacher. Hope it goes well for you.

Nice work on the NSV's! Don't worry about the scale (easier said than done!) and just keep looking fantastic in the cool jacket. :) I love the Non Scale Victories. I think I need to start posting some of those myself.

Aarrgghh!! My scale said the same thing today despite some pretty heroic (if I do say so myself!) dieting efforts! Finding your post and the comments was a shot-in-the-arm for me. Not that I was gonna give up, but I was pretty ticked. When I'm ticked, I eat. Not good. So, thanks for the encouragement! :) BTW, check out my blog, folks! I'd love to add Followers! :D

Hi Keelie!

I am a bit of a "blog lurker"...haha I have a bunch of blogs on my favorites list and just check in whenever I have a moment. You are one of the blogs I find myself coming back to over and over again. I appreciate your honesty and blunt reactions to weight/life/exercise...all of it! It is so refreshing and fun to read. On top of all those accomplishments you are loosing weight like a mad women- CONGRATS!!! I have to tell you- my interest is not really the weight loss, its more reading about your mental endurance through it all. I am an triathlete and I HATE running. Its a tough combo- I know. I look to your blog because I love reading your stories about running. They are inspiring to me. Keep up all the hard work with your 5K's...if you are getting bored with running and want to add in something new maybe think about swimming or biking? Who knows a triathlon might be next for you :) I highly recommend the "SheROX" series if they have one in your area. CONGRATS!
