There has been research done about the body's weight "set point." That gain or losing more than 10lbs forces the body to readjust significantly. Just think of this period as time for your body's set point to come down to you current weight and adjust to the new reality. It'll just mean it'll be easier for you to lose weight in the future!

Don't get discouraged! Keep doing what you know you should be doing and you will get there!!!
I totally agree with what Amy said about have a "set point" - your body will catch up to what you want!

Hey I don't know if this would help you or maybe you have thought about it so will share a bit.

I was in a conversation with one of my good friends who is on a 100 lb weight loss journey and has currently lost over 50 pounds...I think about 53 to be exact.

She was sharing that she had come to a stand still in her weight loss right before she hit her 50 lb loss mark... She didn't know what she was doing wrong. Well first she said that she had to increase her points (eat them--She does WW...I don't know how all this works) I guess she said she wasn't eating enough calories. That didn't make much sense to me since you would think eating less would make you thinner...but she needed to up her calories. She figured that her body was thinking it was starving even though she was still exercising.

She also increased her workouts to 6 days a week with high intensity. Oh...and she did share that when she is focused on the Lord more, the weight loss comes easier...interesting.

These were the tips she gave me. When she applied all of this she saw a 4 pound loss almost immediately.

Just thought I would share this with you. :) BTW...You look fabulously gorgeous my dear!! :)

great advice Chris. And yes, I am thinking of this as a brief standstill. I know I need to increase exercise--actually just return to the level I was at several months ago. And focusing on God is paramount. Thanks ladies!

A dudes perspective, need to watch more football and play more poker! Wait, that wont help you; watch less football and poker not at all. There, cut those two things out and all will be better.

Does that help? No?? Dang, I got nothing today. Well, except this... someone posted recently that laughing burns 3 calories each time you do it. Therefore...
Knock Knock
Who's there?
Cash!

I knew you were nuts!

Keep smiling & laugung friend :-)

It's a day to day battle when you're trying to lose weight and there are times when it's pure drudgery. Ugh.

When I am trying to do something that is difficult I remind myself that slow and steady wins the race. Stupid, I know, but it helps me keep plodding along at times when I feel like giving up!
