How to Dress Your Muffin

Coming from an unlikely source, but a source nonetheless, here is a fashion tip:

Don't drop down a size before your time!

Tempting though it may be, do not, under any circumstances, do it. This is why.

208 lbs in a size 16

208 lbs in a size 18

Just in case you aren't getting it, let's take another look. From behind.

208 lbs in a size 16

208 lbs in a size 18

It is SO much fun to drop down a size! Believe me--I know. That is precisely the reason I had these 16s on tonight--just checking in with them. Much to my disappointment, the proof was in the photo. The muffin is not "mini" yet. It's not even standard. So, in my 18s I will stand proud.

Patience my dear friends, patience.

P.S. This goes for skinny folk too. No one is immune to muffin tops. Just buy the next size up and deal. You can thank me later.

I'm glad you're embracing the photo concept! It's a great way to see how far you've come. And this is a GREAT point!!! By wearing the larger size (and the only person who knows the # on the label is you, so who cares) you look at least 15 pounds smaller! In other words, when the clothing fits, you look better. You'll be comfortably in that smaller size soon enough. Till then, you look terrific in the larger size. Good for you!

By looking at the pics.....the 18 actually makes you look smaller because it fits better! Looking good!

Keelie, there is wisdom in wearing the proper size, isn't there? It really does make a difference!

Can I add that you have really beautiful hair? In all your photos I can tell that it's thick and has nice body. Sometimes when we're focusing on working on our "problem" areas, we neglect to see our strengths and so I wanted to complement you on your beautiful hair!

Well, I'm off to walk on my trainer during American Idol. Have a great night!

I've seen way too many people who drop down a size - or TWO - way before they should. Shudder. It's so not pretty. You'll be in the smaller size and looking good before you know it.

I love this post- very honest! Today I wore a pair of pants that though did not look bad- pinched the hell out of my skin due to a snug fit and a weird side clasp. I'm in an awkward place where my "before" pants are too big and my smaller pants aren't quite comfortable. It sucks but I just keep reminding myself that soon, with hard work my smaller pants will be too big too! Really like this new blog!

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement. I figure I'll be in the smaller size in a couple weeks--once I hit ONEderland..

CandoMom--Thanks for the compliment. Not to sound proud but I really love my hair. I have been letting it grow out for a long time and the smaller I get the longer it looks.

Kelly--I knew what you meant! :)

Taylor--OMG! I when I saw that I ran in the living room and was like "JUSTIN! Guess who just commented on my blog!!!!" I felt pretty awesome, must admit. Although I did leave her a comment with my blog address discretely included at the bottom...

That is hilarious. Thanks for reminding us... even if they zip up, doesn't mean we should be wearing them!! YOu just crack me up, thanks for making my day a little brighter.
