Weigh In: Maintenance

177 lbs.

Are. You. Kidding. Me?

I have a ritual of weighing every morning. It keeps me in check. It has never caused a problem for me until this week. On Monday morning I hopped on and this is what I saw:

I was so excited when I saw this! I actually thought I had broken out of OBESE and into OVERWEIGHT so that is why I took the picture. Upon further research I found that I need to be at 174 to no longer be obese so I couldn't do the big celebratory post that I wanted. But I thought SURELY! Surely with this weight on Monday I would be down another pound by today.

Nope. 177 pops up like a nasty zit on your wedding day.

Ahhh. Not worth stressing over. But it does go to show you how crazy our bodies are. I can't think of any reason why my body would be retaining water or anything like that. I also have been running everyday and eating as close to perfect as this red head gets. Not sure what the heck is going on...

Let's end on a happy note, shall we? I love this comparison. The before is the very first "weigh in" picture I ever took specifically for the blog. This is the difference in Obese and *Almost* NOT Obese.

We've come a long way, baby!

You look so healthy! I think we tend to focus on those darn scale numbers so much that we forget to look at this journey for what we have accomplished. You my friend look AMAZING! :)

I weigh everyday too. And I agree it just keeps me in check and if I hope on one morning and am up I know I just need to be a little more focused for the day. But I hate when I have a great weigh in and then on the official day its up... what the heck?!? But you'll see that number again! You look fabulous! I can't wait to have more great comparison photos like you do!

Girl, you look awesome !!!! that comparison pic is absolutely fantastic !!!! You have come a long way! WTG!!!

and I hear ya on the *almost* something. I thought I had entered 'normal' BMI but I was off by .4. Ya, it's just number, but still very fun and exciting to celebrate when you break through a barrier. You'll get it! That I know.

Have a fabulous day!

Awesome Keelie! The picture says it all! Don't let the number get into your head. It's just a number. Your pictures are worth a hundred weigh ins of 175!

It is crazy how much our weight can fluctuate, even over the course of the day! But, I'm with everyone else you look amazing, don't let the numbers get you down too much! You're inspirational!

The scale (and our bodies) can be such an enigma. I am on the other end of that spectrum this morning: I saw a new low that I KNOW I don't deserve. My weekend was a bomb, and it should be showing up as a gain, but because of horomones, I'm dropping water-weight like crazy, so it looks like I've lost. It'll just creep back up in a few days though :(

Am I the only one who LOSES water weight just before a period?? So strange...

You look amazing!!!!! Don't worry about the little gain. Our bodies are like that. You are an inspiration.

I cried like a little baby when my Wii Fit didn't say "You're obese" but instead saying "You're overweight." I was never so happy to be called overweight.

Ah, but now to be called normal...

Congrats hon. Don't worry about the 2lbs. Our body naturally fluctuates. It's all about the trend, not individual measurements.

You don't even look like the same woman on the left side of the comparison pic. Seriously...you look about 10-15 years younger. Beautiful!! :)

I think you look fabulous! I weigh myself first thing every morning (unless we're up at the cabin, no scale there) and it's hard not to let those numbers affect how you feel. I agree with everyone who tells you to look at your before and current photos. They tell a very important story. Keep it up and you succeed!

You do look great - and I feel your pain. I also attempt to weigh myself everyday and have also experienced a two pound surge. It hurts and then you move on. Keep truckin...

You look great -- don't beat yourself up by a number here and a number there. You'll get there. You have been on an amazing journey!!! BE HAPPY! :-)

So glad I'm not the only one who gets majorly ticked off by the scale every once in a while! Keep up the amazing work- you are phenomenal!

I just love this song that is playing right now.

You know that number.... Keelie, it won't ever tell even half of how beautiful you are.

High or low, that number doesn't come nearly as close to telling the story.

.. that smile of yours, though... I see a gorgeous story springing forth there.

:)
