Workout Update

On my way to the gym today...

214 lbs. ****************210lbs. ****************

Things are moving along in the gym. On Monday I was the only one in there so I was able to do some of the machines that I wasn't quite sure about. You know the ones--you're afraid you'll look like an idiot when you get on there. Now I feel more confident so I can do them anytime I want.

I also moved up to 1.2 miles this week. It still hurts as bad as it did the first time I ran the mile. Will it start to not hurt? Just wondering. I'll keep going either way. It feels too good when I am done!

Oh--I thought I should throw this pic in since it really highlights my biggest problem area. Ever seen someone with a bigger gut than butt? Pretty weird, I know. Hey--I'm workin' on it! How smart am I? I held the camera in front of my face so no one can ever prove this is really me. Gag!

Side note: One time I had put my pants on backwards by mistake and before I realized it, I thought I had lost weight since there was more room in front/less in back and the pants fit perfectly. *Sigh*

Way to go!! I had a trainer in college when I was like 40 pounds lighter, and after he showed me how to do all the machines, I dropped him! LOL I just wanted to know what all the machines did=)

Great job!! The longer you do it the easier the running will become.

We ALL have problem areas...don't worry about it. You are working hard!!

Keep motivating me. I might try the "E" word sometime. I can't even type it or say it yet.

Totally made me LOL about the putting pants on backwards story and how it worked better than the right way...because I can TOTALLY relate! My genetics have given me a flat butt, so as I gain weight the flat butt gets wider but not so much bubblier (?). But my tummy just keeps protruding more and more as I gain. I have been mistaken for being pregnant before...when I wasn't!

And you are looking great...just 10 away from Onederland! KEEP IT UP!!

PS - got my first jogging experience in..only about a block and a half of jogging, but I'm taking inspiration from you and planning on adding a bit each week and will hopefully be at a place where running a mile non-stop will be doable by the end of March when weather begins to become less abrasive here in MN...

You're funny. Just from my experience - running gets no easier for me no matter how long I do it. I have ran 5 days a week for the last 6 weeks and I hate it more today than I did 6 weeks ago. But on a more helpful note, whatelse are you really going to be doing for that 30 minutes on the treadmill that you cannot do when you are done? And cardio is the key to weight loss. I have lost 5 lbs. Yea me. Keep on running. And if you incline 1 or 2 % (or more) you burn way more calories, in the same amount of time, and don't really even notice the incline.
