Workout Update

Let's talk about my workouts. My non-existent workouts. This is just ridiculous. I haven't really done any form of physical activity in a couple of weeks. My back was hurting for a few days mid-July so I had to back off and then it felt better but I continued to back off. Easy thing to do. It takes so much effort and determination to get a physical routine in place (not really but need to say that to make a point) and yet it is so easy to fall away.

Some of you may recall my sermon-esque posts regarding the importance of exercise. Well, even though I am a hypocrite in my actions, I still stand by those. You should see how flabby I am. You should feel how my body is aching. It is amazing how my energy level is about 0-1 all day long and I even need a nap every day. I HATE this! I LOVE the way I feel when I exercise.

So this is a no-brainer.

This was a day I was all ready to workout and then I got to wondering if the green and coral would be a good color combo. I ended up taking a picture and then not working out. What?

Thanks to all of you who could empathise with me in the comments section yesterday! I really appreciate it. But now I would like to pass on the message (in my own words) I got from Norma and Seth this morning, almost simultaneously. Suck it up; get off your rear! Ha! Forget about the heat--obviously take care of yourself--but just do it. Just do it is a great motto. Somebody ought to use that...

I also needed to put it out there that I am running in a 5K in September, a 5k in November, and a Marathon Relay!!! (4 mi. leg) in December. So I've got to get to it. I've got medals to claim, people.

My very first 5K is on September 12th! So get to it! And green and coral is just fine. I wore a bright orange visor with my magenta shirt when I went running yesterday. I may not look good, but my running was awesome.

Made me laugh that you took a pic wondering about your color combination and then didn't go workout! You are too cute and funny!

So you hit sort of a slump in workouts, maybe it was your body telling you to slow down a bit. Sounds like you've rested and your motivation is back with vengeance and you're ready to rock it again !

Best wishes on your 5K and relay! You can totally claim some medals !

Have a great day Keelie :)

When you've been working out regularly and then you fall out of routine it's hard to get back. But it's even harder when you look back and realized that you self sabotaged and then it's frustrating and that much harder.
For the record, coral and green is always a cute color combo, so is purple and green (no it doesn't look like a bruise if you use the right shades).
So excicting for your 2 5K's and marathon relay!!

You are so cute! & i like the colors together, haha.

It's true - JUST DO IT! & you can & will. I always have a hard time getting back into the groove of exercise when i've been out awhile due to sickness or whatever. But you're right- it feels so good to be in the habit of exercise! :)

It is so hard to exercise in the heat. I hear you completely!! Where I live if I get out by 7:00am it is okay - seriously even at 20C (ugh... don't know in F like 85?) I am suffering. When I was away on vacation it was between 100-115 and I just couldn't. Is there a nice air-conditioned gym you can hit??

You look amazing! It is so hot where I live that I've been exercising at 5:30 or 6:00 to beat the sun coming up. Ugh.

Well...putting on the gear is the first step, Keelie. I can't say I've ever done it without actually working out though, LOL. Get out there!!!

Time to get back on the horse, as the saying goes! When I get like that, I just tell myself to quit talking about it and just GO! Then I feel silly for talking to myself, but you get where I'm coming from :)

I read on FB that you got your butt movin....you go girl!!

I was thinking of your this morn as I was jogging. I got my butt out of bed a bit after my 10 yr old daughter comes in and says.... "mom...dad, it's 6:15 am..are we going joggin??"...

I said..."sunset is at 6:50 and it's way to early to get up" So I was up at 6:50 and got to the trail where we jog at about 7am. Hubby, me, daughter and son....we all jogged for 30 mins.

Yep, it felt so good. I had taken a couple days off and I was feeling it girl...i sure was.

The plus though is the mornings are not as hot so I enjoyed the low humidity in the air. I could actually breathe.
