Night Out & Tracker 34

In the "best coffee" bathroom.

We had a blast tonight! First stop was the restaurant I asked for your help with earlier today. There was actually an item on the menu tonight that was not on the menu I found online today. It was roasted chicken with root vegetables. That's what I ordered. My hubby got the pecan crusted catfish. Both dishes were excellent. I exhibited great restraint in only consuming 1 piece of some incredible sourdough bread.

(Oh my gosh! I just remembered the fried green tomato with buttermilk ranch dressing that I ate. I did not put that on my tracker :( Need to add about 120 calories for that. It was worth it)

After dinner we headed to a coffee shop and ordered the french press. I did add one packet of raw sugar and some cream. It was okay but a little too acidic for my taste.  Kind of a downer after I had waited all week for it. But, oh well. As we were leaving, the server suggested a little chocolate shop around the corner, so how could we resist?

**Warning! This post now abruptly turns into a chocolate shop spectacle!**

Here's the chocolate--chocolate, chocolate & MORE chocolate!

Crack in a Box! I sampled this one. MMMMM.

Yup--cheese n' chocolate. Unbelievable!

This was such a fun night. We ended it at yet another coffee shop. Here I had an iced coffee with sugar free syrup and half & half. There was a great local band playing while we were there. So fun!

Here is my tracker minus the fried tomato :-/ I think that puts me right at 1600 calories.

I'm glad you had fun! And Happy Birthday, too! (And I seriously want a brownie.)

I've been noticing your tracker, but until now hadn't really looked at the goal amounts for your food. I was just looking at what and how much you were eating. (I wanted some tips and inspiration!)

So, while I have noticed that you weren't eating much protein, I hadn't realized that it was on purpose! Your GOAL amount is only 5 ounces a day.

Keelie, I don't think that is anywhere near enough protein for an active young woman, even counting the protein in the milk.

I could be wrong, of course, but it's kind of serious as too little protein will cause your body to consume your muscles...including your heart muscle.

Sooo, I was wondering if, when you have a chance, if you could get online and research appropriate protein consumption. Just in case.

Thank for the concern, Deb! I sometimes feel like I could use a little more meat in my diet! I have always followed the nutritional guidelines as suggested by First Place 4 Health. I just went over to www.myplate.gov to see what they suggest...also 5 oz. equivalents per day for someone my age with my activity level. here's the link: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/food-groups/protein-foods-amount.html#
I know my nutritional spread is not one that many people who are trying to lose weight follow. Too many grains for the average bear:) But it has worked for me and as far as I know I am healthy and building muscle. I will definitely look into it further tho.

Happy Birthday! I love your outfit. It looks like such a fun night with your family :)

If it works for you, then it's great (I say). I eat a lot of protein because it keeps me full longer.

That chocolate shop looks amazing! I went to one recently and was glad I couldn't afford anything in there! Too much temptation. Sounds like you had a good night. :)

Hey Keelie! My name is Kristen. I have been following your blog for a while but I don't think I have ever left a comment. I just want to tell you what an inspiration you are. I am also on the weight loss journey. I have had my band for about 2 and a half years and I too am on the journey to lose 100 pounds.

I am a believer as well and the scriptures on your page are inspirating. Reading God's word gives me the motivation I need to keep going in this sometimes crazy world. Thanks for being a positive example.

I would love for you to stop by my blog sometime. Redmokr.blogspot.com. Have an awesome day!
