Weigh In: Maintenance

Well, I could have predicted this. Don't get me wrong--I am perfectly happy with maintaining the lowest weight I can remember in about 7 years. I am just a little upset with myself because I can't tell you that I don't know how this happened. Or that TOM had come to visit. Or that I have been stressed. Or that I haven't been able to work out.

None of those apply. What I will tell you is that I made a choice this week. I chose to not lose weight. When I began to consume things that I had not planned on and had no intentions of recording, that's when I decided I would not lose weight this week. Even though I didn't say it outloud deep down I knew that's what I was doing.

So, I begin this new week with a great outlook. I am prepared to make the choices that have gotten me to where I am thus far in the journey!

Oh, I almost forgot. Here are the answers from the Pop Quiz:

1.tea
2. no
3. salmon
4. no

There was only one person who {absolutely, positively} got it right! ;)

The simple way you put this hit home with me. You "chose not to lose weight." This is so true! It is our choice what we eat, if and when we exercise, and if we take care of our health. Ultimately we chose to lose weight. Thanks for your integrity. I appreciate it more than you know.

Got the pop quiz wrong. Glad you got it right:) Hope the good choices are happening for you today. Weeks like this happen, all you can do is own it, and try to learn from it. By the way, LOVE the Easter dress!

You are so right in that losing weight is a choice. I am glad to hear you are back on track and ready to rock it this week!!!!!

yay! (this is probably the best i've even done on a pop quiz.) but HOYEAH! for sticking to your guns at chili's. i am quite proud of you and was hoping that would be the right answer. i remember when i was "forced" to order guiltless grill-type foods a few months before gallbladder surgery, and the first time afterward when i went out had had "what i wanted," i was sort of disappointed because i didn't have that good feeling afterward like i would have had if i had controlled what i ate.

i feel like i can say with authority now that i just KNEW that food would energize you this week. :P

ps- thank you for all the sweet comments on my blog. i thank God for the connection we have- you are such a bright light for me here- and i pray God's blessings for you and yours during easter and always!! <3

Hey Keelie-Girl!

First of all:-) I am so proud of you for recognizing where things went wrong for you this past week, and now stepping up to fix it! You are doing such a fabulous job and you are looking AMAZING!

Secondly, don't be too hard on yourself! I have found that when I have a week that is not quite "the ideal diet/workout week", I too, will make adjustments and refocus the following week. The good news is.....usually a disappointing week is followed or SOON follows a super great week!

And lastly, be sure you allow yourself the opportunities to "treat yourself". I know I usually have an UNPLANNED day of eating something NOT ON THE PLAN---at least once every other week! But it keeps me sane, and it allows to me to enjoy certain celebrations with family and friends. As long as it is not jeopardizing your diet plan or doesn't become part of a bad habit, treat yourself:-)

You can do it! Look how far you come! I can't wait to see how this week goes for you:-)

NO WAMMIES! NO WAMMIES!! LOL

We all have off days/weeks/months (eep!) - I'm really proud of how you're handling it and your attitude about going forward, and that you're not beating yourself up over it. :)
